NOTEWORTHY: No. 5 Latta and No. 2 Dale squared off on Tuesday in what turned out to be another epic battle between the two Class 2A powers. A sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh gave Dale the 8-7 victory. Dale led 7-2 heading into the sixth inning. Latta scored five runs to tie it up. Latta held Dale in the bottom of the sixth, but the Pirates started the seventh with a single by Xavier Lanham. Lanham moved to second after a walk was issued to Martin. Gage Ross laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners over. An intentional walk was issued to Dalton Tillison to load the bases with one out. Joe Buckendorff then hit a sac fly to center to end the game. Lanham finished 2-4, with two runs scored and two RBIs to pace Dale. Latta was led by Parker Henderson who finished 3-4 at the plate and had two RBIs.

NOTEWORTHY: The Latta Panthers got back in the win column on Monday at Tupelo. The Panthers pounded out 11 hits en route to the 12-0 victory. Kade Hayes led off the game with a solo home run as the Panthers scored three runs in the first. They tacked on five more runs in the third and a single run in the fourth and fifth for the run rule win. Tristen Wood only gave up one hit as he picked up the win on the mound.
