NOTEWORTHY: Reid Wall pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 16 while going 2-for-3 from the plate, with a solo-homer, as Byng blanked Roff, 2-0, Tuesday. His solo-blast came in the sixth inning. Teammate Andrew Daniel was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Roff hurler Hunter Larsh (5-1) worked all seven innings, scattered six hits, walked two and struck out three in suffering the loss. Dalton Reed (1-for-2) and Zach Lewis (1-for-3) had the only Tiger hits.

Team Records: Roff 11-6; Byng 16-1.

NOTEWORTHY: Phylisha Chamberlain tossed a two-hitter and struck out 10 as Tupelo edged Stonewall, 2-1, on Tuesday. Kurston Chamberlain went 2-for-4 from the plate and scored a run for the victorious Lady Tigers. Tana Davis took the pitching loss for the Lady Longhorns as she surrendered six hits and three walks while striking out three.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We took a giant step in the right direction and Phylisha put us on her back (with pitching),” said Tupelo Head Coach Jason Trimmer.

Team Record: Tupelo 6-10; Stonewall 15-9.
