When the Thunder take court Friday against Detroit, fans may have a hard time recognizing their favorite Oklahoma City players.
The team will be unveiling for the first time its navy blue alternate uniform.
Oklahoma City will only be able to wear the new uniforms a total of 12 times this year. But due to NBA rules, it can only wear them at home twice. The next time home fans will be able to see the new uniforms in person will be New Year’s Eve when the Phoenix Suns come to town.
The Thunder is scheduled to wear the navy blue alternate for the following road games this season: Brooklyn (Dec. 4); Minnesota (Dec. 20); Washington (Jan. 7); Dallas (Jan. 18); L.A. Lakers (Jan. 27); Utah (Feb. 12); Denver (March 1); San Antonio (March 11); Indiana (April 5); Golden State (April 11).
Early impressions have not been favorable. But NBA franchises know alternate uniforms are a cash making machine. The Thunder's uniforms are scheduled to go on sale Friday for $110.
