After Friday's announcement that Oklahoma senior defensive tackle Stacy McGee has been suspended from the team, depth at the spot has become an issue. Fellow senior defensive tackle Casey Walker has missed some practices with a tender hamstring, but was able to make through training camp relatively healthy.
"I pray about that every night, that I don’t get hurt. I cannot be hurt. If I get hurt, I don’t know what would ... I’m not talking like I want to seem big. We are kind of thin down there. I’ve got to stay healthy," Walker said on Friday. "Bottom line: if it means extra stretching, getting in the cold tub three times a day. By any means, staying in the training room, but I’ve got to stay healthy.”
Staying healthy has been tough for Walker. He missed six games with a knee injury in 2010. Walker only missed two games last season, but played the entire season with a torn labrum and suffered a broken thumb midway through the year.
