NORMAN – Oklahoma freshman left-handed pitcher Levi Prater was selected as a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the organization announced Wednesday.
Prater becomes the fifth Freshman All-America selection for the Sooners in the last five seasons. The Ada native appeared in 33 games and made four starts in his first season at OU, finishing with a 3-4 record and a 4.09 ERA. He struck out 64 and held opponents to a .169 average this year in 50.2 innings pitched.
Prater’s 33 appearances this season set an OU freshman record and currently rank 14th nationally. He was selected as a unanimous pick to the 2018 Big 12 All-Freshman team.
