TUPELO — Katie Campbell’s career-high 25 points led the Tupelo Lady Tigers to a dominating 65-27 win over the Olney Lady Mustangs Thursday night. Cameron Mann’s 12 points led a balanced attack as the Tigers completed the sweep with a 64-25 thrashing of the Mustangs.

“We got to play a lot of kids and that’s always a good thing,” said the Lady Tigers’ head coach Brian Davis. “Our defense is getting better, but — as a coach — I’m never completely satisfied. We need to improve our rebounding and execution.”

Led by Campbell, Kendra Pearce and Brittanie Williams, Tupelo jumped out to an overwhelmning 24-5 first-quarter lead and the game was never in doubt after that.

“If we can beat Vanoss tonight, then I’ll say we had a pretty good week,” Davis said.

The Lady Tigers are 11-5.

Tigers’ head coach Clay Weller was pleased with his team’s performance.

“We really got after it,” Weller said. “Everybody got to play and to contribute. I’m very pleased with the way we’re playing in practice, but we have to find a way to bring it to the games.”

The Tigers are 10-6.
