NOTEWORTHY: Kaylie Sanders singled home Kelsey Warner with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Tupelo the wild victory over Tushka (No. 5 in Class 3A). Warner reached on a two-out error and moved to second on a single by Grace Leland before Sanders hit a ground ball into center field for the game winner. Tushka had scored five runs on six hits in the top of the seventh to tie the game. Tupelo (No. 6 in Class 2A) wiped out a 5-4 deficit with a four-run fifth-inning rally highlighted by winning pitcher Landra Nelson’s two-run homer, and Nelson added an RBI single in a two-run sixth that put the Lady Tigers up 10-5. Chesna Henry drove in four runs with an RBI double in a two-run first, an RBI double in a two-run third and two-run single in the sixth. Shanna Davidson was 4-for-4 with four runs scored as part of Tupelo’s 18-hit attack.

Daniel hit a two-run homer and Miller followed with a solo shot in a 10-run Stonewall rally in the second inning, and Miller’s two-run shot was the big blow in a four-run third inning. Brettney Brady, Bradianne Daniel and Lyndsay Daffern joined Miller with two hits for the Lady Longhorns.
