A trey by Kourtney Harris got the Lady Bulldogs (2-1) within 51-47, but three free throws down the stretch by the Lady Demons sealed the victory.

BOYS

Stratford 72, Fox 46

Freshman Dalen Qualls scored 31 points to lead the Bulldogs to the win. They will face the Dibble-Paoli winner Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. while the Foxes will take on the loser Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m.

“It’s nice to get a win,” said Stratford coach Mark Qualls. “Any win you can get with an inexperienced group is good. We had only one kid who suited up and didn’t score. The down side is we missed way too many free throws (16 of 37).”

Brent Smart scored five points early in the game for Fox and Jeremy Stewart hit a three-pointer with 1:02 left in the first quarter to tie the game at 10. Stratford (1-2) scored the final four points of the first quarter and never trailed in the game. The Bulldogs led by 13 at halftime and led 50-31 with just over two minutes left in the third quarter. Fox would get no closer than 18 the rest of the way.

Qualls added eight rebounds and Michael Jolley scored seven points, grabbed six boards and had three steals as well.

Brent Smart, Trent Smart and Randon Sims scored 10 points apiece for the Foxes. Brent Smart added three steals and Derek Martin had a game-high nine rebounds for Fox.
