Registration under way

for youth basketball

ADA — Boys and girls in grades 5-8 can now register for a USA basketball league held this winter at East Central University.

The deadline to register is Nov. 5.

League games will begin the first weekend in December and will be played in ECU’s McBride Gym.

All-sports passes now

available at Roff

ROFF — Roff All-Sports Season Passes are now on sale at the high school office.

Tickets are good from Oct. 1, 2006, through Sept. 30, 2007, for all sporting events sponsored by Roff Schools. Passes are not good for OSSAA playoff events. Passes will be sold through November 2006.

Cost is $90 per family, $50 per adult and $25 for students.

Roff School District Senior Citizens (60 and over) can get a free pass on request.

Enrollment extended

for youth ball teams

ADA — Trinity Baptist Church is now taking enrollment for teams as well as individuals for the upcoming youth basketball leagues.

Leagues will consist of players in grades 1-4. Forms can be picked up at the church, 123 N. Mississippi, and are due by Oct. 13. Entry fee is $45.

The leagues will begin play Nov. 4 with a mandatory coaches meeting set for Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.

Annual Dizzy Dean Day

scheduled for Oct. 14

SPAULDING — The 13th Annual Dizzy Dean Day at Spaulding, Okla., is Saturday, Oct. 14. The town of Spaulding honors the famious Dean borhters, Jay “Diz” and Paul who palyed baseball for Spaulding High School and later lead the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series.

The day will start with a pancake breakfast at 6:30 a.m. In addition to the usual tractor parade and other old-time, small town activities, music will be provided for entertainment beginning at 9 a.m.
