Ada's Hibbard to play at

USA Junior Nationals event

ADA — After an outstanding performance in the USA Junior Nationals all-state high school basketball competition at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Ada senior Cody Hibbard has been selected to participate in the prestigious USA Junior Nationals ‘National Sports Festival’ scheduled for July 24-30 in Columbus, Ohio.

Hibbard was one of the top scorers in the area as a junior, averaging 12.2 points per game. He shot 41.6 percent from the field and sank 50-of-162 3-point attempts (30.9%).

The USA Junior Nationals provides one of the top amateur competitions in the United States and offers its program to all athletes who have a high talent level in basketball and want to develop their skills and techniques through statewide, national and international competition.

The USA Junior Nationals offers competitions at approximately 42 sites in the spring with competitions scheduled throughout the south, midwest, east and west coasts. Athletes who demonstrate advanced skills, team leadership, competitive spirit and good sportsmanship go on to the next level of play which is the National Sports Festival.



Homer Baseball now

accepting teams for fall

HOMER — Homer Baseball is now taking teams for the 2006 fall season.

Leagues include 4-5 T-Ball, 5-6 T-Ball, 7-8 Coach Pitch and 10-and-Under. The age cutoff date for players is January 1. League play begins Aug. 26.

Ada Cougar camp

set for June 27-30

ADA — The annual Ada boys basketball game is scheduled for June 27-30 at the Cougar Activity Center.

The camp is open to all area youngsters entering grades 3-8.

Cost is $50 per camper ($80 for two campers in the same family) and includes a camp T-shirt.

Campers entering Grades 3-5 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon daily while campers entering grades 6-8 will meet from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
