The East Central University soccer team earned a 3-2 overtime win over Great American Conference leading Ouachita Baptist at Lady Tiger Field on Senior Day. The win for the ECU (3-8, 3-1 GAC) handed OBU (8-2-1, 3-1-1 GAC) its first loss in the GAC standings.

ECU was led by one of its four seniors that were honored prior to the start of the match, Ashley Bradford. Bradford tallied two goals, including her second game-winner in as many games. Red-shirt freshman Taylor Lowe earned eight saves.

Bradford put ECU up 1-0 at 19:34 in the first half, with her first goal of the match. She got a one-on-one with the goalie down the middle after a pass from junior Taylor Graves.

OBU tied the game at one at 35:41 in the first half. That is how the first half would end.

Late into the second half, ECU took a brief 2-1 advantage when senior Susana Galvez tallied her first goal of the season at 71:36. She sent in a shot from the middle of the box after the ball bounced around in the box on a corner kick.

Less than a minute later OBU tied the game at 2 with a goal at 72:32. Both teams had several chances to break the tie through the rest of regulation, but the game was forced into overtime.

Both teams again had chances to score at the beginning of overtime, but it was ECU who broke the tie at 93:56. Bradford took advantage of a failed clear by the OBU goalkeeper on a shot attempt by junior Milan Galloway. She sent the ball in on the open goal for her fourth goal of the season.

ECU will now hit the road for the rest of the 2013 regular season, starting with a Friday, Oct. 18 match against Northwestern Oklahoma State at 4 p.m.
