NOTEWORTHY: The Lady Wolves jumped out to a 32-10 halftime lead and never looked back in a lopsided victory over the Marietta Junior Varsity squad. Jessica Welch led Vanoss with eight points as head coach Gary Self’s team had 12 different players in the scoring column.

COACHES QUOTE: “We really played well against Marietta. I was very pleased with our effort. We shot a lot of threes because we don’t have an inside game yet. We got to play a lot of kids and that’s always nice,” — Vanoss coach Gary Self.

NOTEWORTHY: After a sluggish first quarter, the Pirates were down 13-5, but they cut the lead to five at the half. Byng exploded for 33 points in the third quarter and cruised to their eighth victory of the year. Ryan Hayes scored 10 of his 13 in the third quarter, as coach Tommy Eaton enjoyed a balanced scoring attack.

COACHES QUOTE: “The 33 points scored in the thrid quarter was the most that any team I’ve coached has scored. We started slow, but the kids hit seven 3-pointers in the that quarter and that was the difference in the game,” — Byng coach Tommy Eaton.
