NOTEWORTHY: Alyssa Sanchez sank three 3-point shots and finished with 13 points, but it wasn’t enough Monday as the Roff Lady Tigers dropped a 62-48 decision to Velma-Alma in the first round of the 35th Annual Black Diamond Tournament in Rush Springs. Kaylea Ensey followed with 11 points, including one trey, and Carlee Eaton chipped in eight points in a losing effort. Velma-Alma led 15-11 after the first quarter and went on a 24-13 run in the second in building a 39-24 halftime advantage. Roff outscored the Lady Comets 24-23 in a solid second half. Lyndei Mercer poured in a game-high 29 points to lead the Lady Comets, while Taylor Norton followed with 14.

Team Record: Roff 3-10.
