NOTEWORTHY: Tupelo took control with a six-run outburst in the top of the second inning. The Lady Tigers pounded seven of their 14 hits in the uprising and got RBI from Kyla Curry, Lindsey Davidson, Brittanie Williams, Kendra Pearce and Desiree Bell in the big inning.

COACHES QUOTE: “I could tell we’d been off six days. We swung at a lot of bad pitches. And if we want to do well in this tournament, we can’t do that. But we managed to put one good inning together,” — Tupelo head coach Brian Davis.

NOTEWORTHY: Roff showed very little layoff rust, pounding 15 hits in the contest while committing zero errors. Kayla Balthrop led the Roff hit parade, going 3-for-4 with a double while Jennifer Gordy finished 2-for-3 with a triple, double and two RBIs. Jamie Fowler and Katie Bailey also had two hits apiece for the Lady Tigers.
