BEGGS – The Byng Lady Pirates saw their basketball season come to an end Saturday after dropping a 50-37 decision to seventh-ranked Broken Bow in the Class 4A area consolation bracket finals.

Broken Bow jumped out to a 14-6 advantage through one quarter, and led 24-13 at halftime and 37-23 after three quarters.

Deja James topped the Lady Savages with 15 points, including a pair of 3-point buckets. Aspen Williston — a 6-4 University of Oklahoma signee —  and Alishea Owens each scored 13 in the balanced BBHS attack.

Jordyn Eaton led Byng with 12 points, as she also canned two treys. Nine of those points came in the second half.

Kennedy Large chipped in 10 points in a losing cause, while Abbey Wilson and Emily Wilson each finished with six. Abbey nailed two 3-pointers, and Emily had one.

Byng, which ended the season at 21-9, had lost in the area finals to third-ranked Muldrow on Friday by a 43-35 count.
