Ada High graduate Kayli Edwards is picking right where she left off. As a freshman at Wheaton College in Bloomington, Ill., Edwards helped the Lady Thunder to a perfect 9-0 dual record this fall. And then Wheaton went on to capture the 2006 CCIW Women’s Tennis Championship at the conference tournament. The team claimed the conference title in dramatic fashinon, edging rival Carthage College 69-66 in the final team standings. Pictured with the team trophy and their individual medals are Edwards and doubles partner Brooke Parrish of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Edwards and Parrish play No. 2 Doubles for the Thunder, who are currently ranked No. 13 nationally in NCAA Division III tennis. “In my 21 years of watching CCIW Women’s Tennis Championships, this was by far the most exciting one I have ever seen,” said Wheaton head coach Jane Nelson. “When Saturday began, I told the team it was goig to come down to who could execute better under pressure, and we were able to do that.”
