COACHES QUOTE: “The John Jacobs Track meet is one of the most prestigious meets of the year. There were not as many teams competeting this year, but the competition was still tough. We had several athletes deliver their best preformance of the year so far. We did not stay for the 1600-meter run or the 1600-meter relay so our kids could make it back for prom, so to come out with a runner up finish was great for our team. In fact, I had to get coach Mart Leming (of Sulphur) to pick up our trophy for us so we could make it back in time. If the guys keep working hard in practice, they will continue to improve every meet.” — Ada boys head coach Nathan Elliott.

COACHES QUOTE: “It was a better performance for most of our runners than the last one (at Purcell). I’m still tweeking the athlete/event order for us, and it seems to be paying off. Plainview is always a powerhouse, and they dominated the meet. But we held our own and posted some good marks where we're strongest. Hopefully, we’re on schedule with our progress.” — Konawa girls head coach Don Gallagher.
