Fundamental Skills Camp

Ada Cougar Basketball will host a fundamental skills camp May 21-23 inside the Cougar Activity Center.

Registration for campers entering grades 1-5 will begin at 8 a.m. May 21, while campers entering grades 6-9 will register at 11:30 a.m.

Campers entering grades 1-5 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Campers entering grades 6-9 will meet from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Cost is $50 per player, and campers will receive a free T-shirt. Concessions will be available.

Lady Cougar camp

open to boys and girls

The Ada Lady Cougars Fundamentals Camp is scheduled for May 29-30 inside the Cougar Activity Center.

The camp is open to both boys and girls players entering grades 1-7 and will run from noon to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Cost is $35 per player and includes a camp T-shirt.

Athletes will register on the first day of camp (May 29).

Summer Tennis Camp

to start May 21

The 2018 Ada Tennis Summer Camp will run for four weeks beginning May 21.

The first week is scheduled for May 21-24 and will continue May 29-June 1, June 4-7 and June 18-21.

Cost is $60 for one week, $110 for two weeks, $160 for three weeks and $210 for four weeks.

Family plans are available with two more campers for $55 for one week per person, $50 for two weeks, $45 for three weeks and $40 for four weeks.

Instructors will be Carolyn Nimmo and Skip Griese.

Campers in sixth grade or under will meet from 8 a.m.to 9:30 a.m. each day, and campers entering grades seven or above will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. daily.

ECU shooting camp

set for May 21-22

An East Central University Tiger Basketball Shooting Camp is scheduled for May 21-22 inside the Kerr Activities Center.

The camp will be conducted by new ECU assistant coach Kyle Hankins, who is a 12-year college coaching veteran and a former NCAA Division I player for Moorehead State.

The camp, open to boys and girls of all ages, will run from 6 to 8 p.m each night. Cost is $40 per camper.

Teaching points include shooting form, footwork and preparation, catch-and-shoot techniques, shooting off screens and shooting off the dribble.

Calvin to host girls basketball camp

CALVIN — The 2018 Calvin Girls Basketball Camp is scheduled for May 21-23 at the Calvin gymnasium.

Entry fee is $20 per player. The camp is open to girls entering grades 4-8.

The camp, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, will focus on individual skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork and defense for younger players and attacking and scoring and improving fundamental skills for older players.
