NOTEWORTHY: Red Oak (No. 1 in Class A) banged out 12 hits in just two at-bats en route to the run-rule victory over 4A No. 7 Latta. Amy Hooser doubled in her only at-bat for the Lady Panthers, who managed just two hits in three innings.

NOTEWORTHY: Sara Miller and Makenzi Lamb had two extra-base hits apiece to pace an 11-hit attack as Latta reached the final four in the tournament with the run-rule victory. Saturday’s games were rained out, but the tournament is tentatively scheduled to resume Friday, after all teams involved have completed their district tournaments.

NOTEWORTHY: Keeli Kessinger’s 13th homer of the season, a three-run shot, highlighted Latta’s five-run first inning, and the Lady Panthers (No. 7 in Class 4A) added 12 more in the second to end the game on the run rule. Sara Miller also had three hits, including two triples, for Latta, and winning pitcher Siera Green was 3-for-3 at the plate and allowed just two hits to earn her 10th win.

NOTEWORTHY: The Lady Longhorns, ranked 13th in Class A, jumped out to a 5-0 lead after an inning, but the Lady Wildcats cut the deficit to 7-5 by the third inning. But the Lady ‘Horns responded with an eight-run third inning to put the game into run-rule status. Seven Stonewall players had two hits apiece, with Bradianne Daniel having four runs batted in, Breann Gipson with three RBIs and Lyndsey Daffren and Kaitlinn Wright with two RBIs each. In defeat, Jessica Luellen, Leslie Parker, Kaci Trentham and Jade Ward all had two hits for Coalgate.
