NOTEWORTHY: Maria Priest fired a one-hit shutout and went 3-for-4 from the plate with a triple and a run scored Tuesday as the Class 2A second-ranked Latta Lady Panthers downed Class A second-ranked and host Tushka. Priest allowed three walks and struck out three. Joining Priest with multiple hits were Abby LaValley and Chelsea Alexander, who were each 2-for-4. LaValley hit a two-run double in the fifth inning. Alexander also scored a pair of runs. Latta finished with eight hits.

NOTEWORTHY: Tristan Johnson hit a two-run homer in the second inning and Addison McGill tossed a three-inning no-hitter as the Byng Lady Pirates pounded visiting John Marshall, 13-0, in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday. McGill allowed no walks and struck out six. Johnson went 2-for-2 from the plate with four runs batted in and two runs scored. Jada Wright, RayAnn Wheat and Krosby Clinton each hit a two-run double in the first inning for Byng, which totaled eight hits. Sydnee Fortner also drove home a pair of runs. The Pirates scored six runs in the first inning and tacked on seven more in the second.

NOTEWORTHY: Molly Rainey fired a three-inning no-hitter and hit a two-run homer Tuesday as the Byng Lady Pirates rolled to a 12-0 rout of John Marshall to complete a doubleheader sweep. Rainey struck out seven batters and surrendered no walks. She finished 2-for-2 from the plate with the two RBIs and two runs scored. Lexi Tusek was also 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. RayAnn Wheat and Jada Wright each knocked in two runs, while Kali Dennis and Mychal Barnett picked up one RBI apiece.

NOTEWORTHY: Katelyn Campise’s bases-loaded squeeze-bunt single scored Kai Watkins and lifted the Class A fifth-ranked Stonewall Lady Longhorns to a thrilling 2-1 victory over Class 2A third-ranked Silo on Tuesday. Alexis Lambert pitched the last three innings for the win, as she allowed only one hit and no walks while striking out one. Watkins started in the circle and allowed one earned run off one hit with one walk and a pair of strikeouts. Stonewall tied the game at 1-all with a run-scoring single by Clio Heath to bring home Campise in the bottom of the first inning. Mahayla Walker (2-for-2) and Heath (2-for-3) led the Lady Longhorns’ eight-hit attack.

NOTEWORTHY: Bless Roberts scattered six hits, walked only two and struck out six in earning the pitching victory as the Coalgate Lady Wildcats knocked off visiting Caney, 7-2, on Monday. Only one of the two Caney runs was earned, as Roberts pitched all seven innings. Katyn Denson and Vanessa Yother each went 2-for-4 to spark Coalgate’s six-hit attack. Denson drove in a run, and Yother scored a pair. Teammates Kenzi Pebworth and Rylie Wood were each 1-for-3, as Pebworth knocked in two runs and Wood scored once and drew a walk.
