NOTEWORTHY: Caitlyn Byrd tossed in 13 points and Lizzy Simpson finished with 12 Tuesday night as the Class 2A 19th-ranked Vanoss Lady Wolves downed Okemah, 42-31. Emrie Ellis followed with nine points for the winners and Rileigh Rush contributed six off a pair of 3-point baskets. Byrd also knocked down one trey. Vanoss jumped out to a 12-7 lead after one quarter and went on a 14-2 run through the second in building a 26-9 halftime cushion. The Lady Wolves then shut out the Lady Panthers with a 6-0 third quarter. NaTaiya Wilson led Okemah with nine points, including one 3-point bucket.

Team Record: Vanoss 19-4; Okemah 8-11.

NOTEWORTHY: The Tupelo Lady Tigers were outscored by a 31-18 margin over the final three quarters in dropping a 39-26 decision at Wapanucka. Abby Maple and Kaya Stallcup topped Tupelo with seven points each while Kaitlyn Ellis added six. The two teams were tied 8-8 after one quarter, but the hosts went on a 13-7 run in the second in establishing a 22-15 halftime advantage.

NOTEWORTHY: Carlee Eaton poured in a game-high 20 points, but it wasn’t enough Tuesday as the Roff Lady Tigers fell to host Stuart 55-51. Eaton also had her team’s lone 3-pointer. Alyssa Sanchez followed with 10 points in a losing effort and Kaylea Ensey tacked on eight. Ashley Brown paced the Lady Hornets with 17 points.

NEWSWORTHY: Wynnewood doubled up Stratford in the second quarter and went on an 18-3 run through the third in pulling away for a 50-32 win over the Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night. Leading 16-15 after one quarter, the Lady Savages went on a 14-7 spurt in the second in building a 30-22 halftime lead and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs by 15 in the third in taking a 48-25 advantage into the fourth period. McKenzie Miner topped Stratford with 15 points.

NOTEWORTHY: Frankie Soar and Kayden King combined for 29 points as the Class 2A 20th-ranked Konawa Lady Tigers stormed to a 51-20 rout of the Lexington Lady Wildcats on Tuesday night. Soar tallied 15 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded a pair of steals while King ended up with 14 points, three boards and six steals. Charlene Galimba tacked on six points, eight assists, four steals and four boards for Konawa. Kim Soar snatched four rebounds to go with her four points and Kayla Hill, though she didn’t score, contributed four boards and a pair of steals. The Lady Tigers flourished early with a 23-5 first quarter and then limited Lexington to a single point in the second quarter in building a 33-6 halftime cushion. It was 41-15 through three quarters.

Team Records: Konawa 15-5. Lexington 9-10.

NOTEWORTHY: Katie Logan popped in 16 points and Colby Sawyer had 14 as the Stonewall Lady Longhorns downed visiting Calera 72-46 on Tuesday. Clio Heath also reached double figures for Stonewall with 11. Stonewall led just 26-25 at halftime but outscored Calera 21-7 in the third period to take control.

NOTEWORTHY: Emma Epperly scored all 16 of her points in the second half and totaled six rebounds for the game Tuesday night as the Latta Lady Panthers rolled to a 36-29 win over the visiting Allen Lady Mustangs. Teammate Chloe Brinlee grabbed eight rebounds to go with her six points. Latta, leading 5-2 after one quarter, used an 11-5 second quarter to build a 16-7 halftime advantage. Kinsey Nix paced Allen with 11 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter. Teammate Emily Sells drilled two 3-pointers and followed with eight points in a losing effort.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We played a really good game defensively the first three quarters. Shaylee Senkel did a really good job (defensively) on Nix. The Lady Mustangs didn’t turn the ball over much,” said Latta head coach Bruce Plunk.
