NOTEWORTHY: Jordyn Eaton poured in 21 points and sank three 3-point shots as the Byng Lady Pirates coasted to a 50-37 victory over Class 3A 12th-ranked Kingston on Tuesday. Byng overcame an 8-2 deficit after one quarter and managed to pull within one, 18-17, at halftime. The Lady Pirates then went on a 33-19 run through the second half. Abbey Wilson followed with seven points, including one trey, and McKenzie Trussell chipped in six. Avri Weeks paced Kingston with 21. Byng was 8-of-12 from the free-throw line, while Kingston finished 10-of-19.

COACH’S QUOTE: “It was a great win for us. I thought we defended the best we’ve defended all year. I was proud of our effort. Our guards played really well against some tough pressure. Jordyn held their best player to five points and answered that on the offensive end with 21…a great game,” said Byng head coach Trent Miller.

NOTEWORTHY: Emma Epperly poured in 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to spark the Latta Lady Panthers to a convincing 60-41 victory over the Lindsay Leopards. Kendra Hisaw and Macy Smith followed with 11 and 10 respectively as each sank one 3-point shot. Shelby Garrett drilled two treys in finishing with six points. Chloe Brinlee and Hailey Baber also collected six points apiece for Latta. Abby Cummings paced Lindsay with 15 points. The Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Leopards in each quarter, including 11-6 in the first and 19-12 in the second in snatching a 30-18 halftime advantage. Latta then went on a 15-9 run in the third.

NOTEWORTHY: Laney Anderson and McKenzie Miner scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the Stratford Lady Bulldogs drilled Dibble, 52-35, on Tuesday night. Miner knocked down four 3-point shots, while teammate Lexi Qualls canned two in finishing with eight points. Stratford, leading 12-8 after the first quarter, outscored Dibble, 31-18, in the middle two quarters in taking control.

NOTEWORTHY: Kayden King tallied 13 points, Charlyee Ortiz had 11 and Shelby Gentry finished with 10 Tuesday night as the Konawa Lady Tigers crushed Elmore City-Pernell 63-14. Gentry knocked down two 3-point shots and Ortiz drilled one as Konawa raced out to a 22-8 lead after one quarter, led 35-12 at halftime and had a 46-14 cushion through three quarters. Elmore City was shut out in the fourth. Frankie Soar added eight points to the Lady Tiger attack while pulling down seven rebounds. Charlene Galimba tacked on six points, three assists and three steals for the winners.

NOTEWORTHY: Lizzy Simpson poured in 19 points, and Emrie Ellis added 17 Tuesday as the Class 2A 10th-ranked Vanoss Lady Wolves ripped Roff, 61-31. Simpson scored 14 of her points in the first half, while Ellis had nine during that span. Ellis also hit one 3-point basket. Shana McNutt finished with 10 points, including two treys, for Vanoss, and teammate Laramie Doffin ended up with eight points, including a pair of 3-point buckets. Carlee Eaton led Roff with eight points, including two treys, and Sidney Wright finished with six points. The Lady Wolves raced out to a 16-4 advantage through one quarter and went on to a 33-17 halftime lead. It was 47-19 through three periods.

NOTEWORTHY: Alexis Chamberlain poured in 21 points to ignite the Stonewall Lady Longhorns to a 44-34 home win over Class B No. 9 Calvin on Tuesday. Clio Heath added 10 points for Stonewall, and Colby Sawyer contributed eight. Calvin led 9-6 after one quarter and had a 16-13 halftime advantage before the Lady Longhorns went on a 17-6 run through the third quarter to take control.

NOTEWORTHY: Sarah Fleming fired in 28 points, snatched six rebounds and blocked a pair of shots as the Asher Lady Indians routed the host Wanette Lady Tigers, 71-23. Fleming nailed 12-of-15 shots from the floor and was 4-of-7 from the free-throw line. Braxten Frazier added 15 points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point range and a 6-of-10 showing from the charity stripe. She also collected nine assists and four rebounds. Ashley Odell followed with nine points, five assists and four steals, and Rayannna Cheatwood chipped eight points and seven boards. Asher shot 59 percent from the floor overall. The Lady Indians jumped out to a 25-4 advantage after one quarter, led 39-8 at halftime and had a 61-11 lead through three periods.
