NOTEWORTHY: Kayden King tossed in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Frankie Soar registered a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards as the Class 2A 20th-ranked Konawa Lady Tigers upended the visiting Holdenville Lady Wolverines on Monday. Charlyee Ortiz added eight points, including her team’s only two treys, to the Konawa attack while snatching five rebounds, assisting on two other baskets and getting a steal. Shelby Gentry contributed six points, seven boards, two assists and one steal for the winners. Charlene Galimba had a team-leading three steals to go with her five points, two assists and two rebounds. The Lady Tigers trailed 9-6 after one quarter but managed to forge a 19-18 halftime edge. Konawa then outscored Holdenville, 30-16, in the second half, including 19-10 in the third quarter. Maddie Franks scored 13 points for the Lady Wolverines, while Bailee Padgett reached double digits with 10.

NOTEWORTHY: Katie Logan tossed in 12 points and Mahayla Walker added 10 as the Stonewall Lady Longhorns outlasted Stuart, 43-41, in a Class A district title game on Saturday. Clio Heath and Dawsyn Lyon were next on the Stonewall scoring chart with six apiece. Ashley Brown topped Stuart with 10 points. Elizabeth Brewer and Skylar Stopp followed with nine each.

NOTEWORTY: A 22-10 fourth quarter by the Earlsboro Lady Wildcats forced overtime as they edged the Asher Lady Indians, 66-65, in double overtime Saturday in the Class B district finals. Asher had a 35-23 advantage entering the fourth before Earlsboro rallied. Five Asher players fouled out as the Lady Wildcats shot 44 free throws, though they only converted 23. The Lady Indians were only 12-of-24 from the charity stripe. Braxten Frazier fired in 26 points, including three 3-point buckets, to lead the Lady Indians in a losing effort. Frazier also had four assists. Sarah Fleming and Bailey Larman each registered double-doubles for Asher, as Fleming tallied 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds and Larman had 11 points and 14 boards. Rayanna Cheatwood also snatched 11 boards to go with her eight points. Ashley Odell didn’t score but handed out a team-high five assists before fouling out. Cheatwood, Gracy Hadley, Larman and Fleming also fouled out.

NOTEWORTHY: Emma Epperly tossed in 12 points before fouling out as the Latta Lady Panthers fell to the host Sulphur Lady Bulldogs, 44-35, on Saturday night. Latta led 14-5 midway through the second quarter, but Epperly picked up her third foul and sat on the bench the remainder of the half. Sulphur ultimately went on a 10-0 run to pull within one at the break, 16-15. In the opening half, the Lady Panthers’ top three shooters – Kendra Hisaw, Shelby Garrett and Macy Smith – were a combined 0-of-10 from 3-point land. Latta was only 1-of-15 from outside the arc for the game. Chloe Brinlee finished with eight points and five rebounds for the Lady Pirates. Hisaw and Carson Dean each chipped in four points, as Dean also grabbed four boards. Shaylee Senkel also collected four rebounds.

NOTEWORTHY: McKenzie Miner drilled five 3-point buckets and finished with 17 total points as the Stratford Lady Bulldogs claimed a 49-44 decision over Ft. Towson on Friday. Laney Anderson followed with 14 points for Stratford, which trailed 23-19 at halftime but outscored the visitors by a 30-21 margin in the second half, including 20-14 in the fourth quarter. Lindsey Smith led Ft. Towson with 19 points, and Destiney Browning added 16. Browning knocked down three treys, and Smith had two.

Byng led 42-9 at halftime and 55-14 after three quarters. Seniors Abbey Wilson and Jordyn Eaton led the way with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Wilson canned two 3-point shots and Eaton connected on one. Kennedy Large followed with eight points.

Carlee Eaton and Makenzi Darnell chipped in six points each in a losing cause. A 19-8 first quarter set the stage for the Stuart victory. It was 33-18 at halftime and 52-26 after three periods.

McKenzie King paced Bowlegs with a game-high 19 points, and teammate Tapv Harjo followed with 13. Teammate Hannah Tholloeco ended up with 10 points, including one trey. Bowlegs led 10-9 after one quarter and 21-11 at halftime. But a 14-7 third quarter pulled Tupelo within 28-25 heading into the fourth.
