NOTEWORTHY: Ty Humphers pitched a five-hit shutout, while Landon Grissom and Ryan York each went 3-for-4 from the plate with a pair of doubles as the Stonewall Lady Longhorns downed Pawhuska 5-0 on Thursday in the first round of the Ripley Tournament. Humphers allowed just one walk and struck out six in working all seven innings from the bump. Grissom drove in two runs, and York scored twice. Teammate Dustin Hayes also knocked in a pair of runs in a 1-for-2 effort as Stonewall ended up with eight hits. The tournament concludes today with the third-place game set for 12:45 p.m., and the title game set for 3 p.m. Stonewall’s Saturday schedule was not available at press time.

Team Record: Stonewall 6-2.

NOTEWORTHY: Avery Gould pitched a five-hitter, while five of his teammates finished with two hits apiece as the Tupelo Tigers hammered the Vanoss Wolves 14-1 in five innings on Thursday. Gould surrendered one earned run and two walks while striking out a pair in pitching all five innings. Luke Leland and Jordan Thunderbull were each 2-for-3, while Brady Benedict, Braydon Pardue and James Beach were each 2-for-4. Leland drove home three runs. Thunderbull ended up with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Benedict doubled once, knocked in three runs and scored twice. Pardue had one RBI, and Beach scored a pair of runs. Gould (1-for-2), Conor McCollum and Seth Foreman each picked up one RBI. Ricky Phillips, Riley Knickmeyer, Trent East and Okie Keeling were each 1-for-2, and Nathan Stone went 1-for-3 for Vanoss. Stone was charged with the pitching loss.

NOTEWORTHY: Conner Priest hit a two-run homer, but it wasn’t enough as the Roff Tigers dropped an 8-5 decision to Lawton MacArthur on Thursday. Roff had just four hits – one each from Priest (1-for-3), Aiden Bagwell (1-for-3), Dayne Bowerman (1-for-2) and Josh Lewis, who hit a double. Bagwell also knocked in a run and drew a walk, and Bowerman drew two walks in the contest. Kaad Gore was tagged with the pitching loss after getting relief help from Lewis in the seventh inning.

Team Record: Roff 5-2.
