NOTEWORTHY: Jenks (No. 4 in Class 6A) snapped a 10-10 tie with two runs in the top of the seventh and edged Roff (No. 2 in Class A) in a shootout. The Tigers, who once trailed 6-0, tied the score with a two-run rally in the bottom of the sixth highlighted by Tim Wallen’s RBI single. Wallen finished 4-for-4 and also had a pair of home runs. Brendon Barr’s grand slam in the bottom of the third pulled Roff to within 6-5, and Wallen’s two-run shot in the fourth answered a two-run Jenks rally in the top of that inning. Dakota Schafer also homer for the Tigers.

NOTEWORTHY: Dakota Schafer pitched into the seventh inning and snapped a 1-1 tie with a three-run double in the fifth inning as Roff gained a split on the day. Brendon Barr’s three-run homer in the sixth made it 8-1, and he and Schafer each had two of the Tigers’ six hits in the victory.

NOTEWORTHY: Clint Humphers tossed a one-hitter and Ryan Williams had three hits, including a double, and drove in four runs to lead Byng to the run-rule victory. Williams had RBI singles in the first and third innings, and his two-run double was the big blow in a three-run fourth that gave the Pirates the lead for good. Brandon Fortner had a two-run triple, and leadoff hitter Reid Wall doubled home a run and scored three times in the win.
