NOTEWORTHY: Trayson Miller went 3-for-4 from the plate with a triple and three runs batted in while Aiden Bagwell tossed a five-hit shutout Thursday as the Roff Tigers (No. 3 in Class B) thumped Strother/Varnum 7-0 at the Red River Rumble at Southeastern University in Durant. (Murray State College in Tishomingo also hosted games during the event.) Bagwell struck out five batters and allowed no walks. Miller’s performance sparked an 11-hit attack. Chad Whitis went 2-for-3 and drew a walk, and Talon Rhoten finished 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a run scored. Wil Joplin drove in a run while going 1-for-3 with a double. Chubbs Biffle led the Varnum offense, finishing 3-for-3 with a double. Martell Davis absorbed the loss, lasting just 3.1 innings. The Whippets are ranked No. 8 in Class B.

NOTEWORTHY: Korben Ford fired a two-hitter, and Carson Atwood hit a pair of homers Thursday as Class A No. 1 Silo slammed the 18th-ranked Latta Panthers 9-1 in five innings. Ford struck out seven and surrendered just two walks in working all five innings. Tanner Graves and Dylan Turner also had one home run each for Silo, which totaled nine hits. Atwood and teammates Jacob Lawless and Joyal Savage each finished 2-for-3. Latta’s only hits came from Randis Gray (1-for-1 with a run scored and a walk) and Dawson Dansby (1-for-2 with a double and one RBI). Starter DJ Van Atten took the loss and got relief help from J.T. Gray and Chance Perry.

Byng pounded out 10 hits as Molly Rainey (1-for-2 with a double) drove in two runs while Kennedy Large, Britney Brooks-Teel (one triple) and Addison McGill each finished 1-for-3 with one RBI. McGill got the pitching win as she gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out one.

NOTEWORTHY: Clio Heath homered while Mahayla Walker and Kai Watkins combined for a five-hit shutout Thursday as the Stonewall Lady Longhorns (No. 12 in Class A) routed the Latta Lady Panthers in six innings. Walker allowed just three hits and three walks over the first four innings. Ashley Hayes (2-for-3 with a run scored) and Dawsyn Lyon (2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored) sparked Stonewall’s nine-hit attack. Heath, with her homer in a 1-for-2 effort, and Walker each drove home two runs. Tatum Brady knocked in a run, scored once and walked one time in a 1-for-2 outing. Kaylee Gragg suffered the loss for Latta. Triniti Cotanny was 2-for-3 from the plate for the Lady Panthers, who totaled five hits. Each team committed two errors.

Beesley struck out seven and overcame three walks as all seven Ardmore runs were unearned. Ally Dixon (2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI, one run scored and a walk), Abby Beck (2-for-4 with two doubles, five RBIs and a run scored), Makella Mobly (2-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored) and Macenzie Ruth (2-for-5 with two runs scored) also provided a lift to Sulphur’s 12-hit assault.

NOTEWORTHY: The Tupelo Lady Tigers were held to five hits as they dropped an 8-0 contest to Wapanucka on Thursday. Shalyn McCollum was 2-for-2 from the plate for Tupelo, while Kaylea Palmer, Cheyane Price and Lindsey Meek were each 1-for-2 as Palmer also walked once. The Lady Indians netted 12 hits in the five-inning affair.

Team Record: Tupelo 3-15; Wapanucka 9-9.

NOTEWORTHY: Paige Mayfield fired a five-inning, no-hitter and the Roff Lady Tigers were helped by eight Geary errors in a 9-0 rout on Thursday at the Hinton Tournament. Mayfield struck out six and surrendered no walks in pitching all five innings. Roff managed just two hits – one each from Kailyn Gore (1-for-2 with one RBI, two runs scored and a walk) and Mayfield (a double and one run scored). Only four of the nine runs scored by the Lady Tigers were earned.

NOTEWORTHY: Maggie Sawyers tossed a four-hitter and Makayla Provence drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to push across the winning run in Roff’s 3-2 victory over No. 1 Binger-Oney Thursday at the Hinton Tournament. Sawyers gave up four hits and four walks while striking out three for Roff (No. 16 in Class B). Only one of the two runs was earned. Roff managed just one hit (by Payton Owens). Jadyn Coucher finished 3-for-4 to pace the Binger offense Mysty Nevarez finished 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run, while Jordan Anthony-Baade and Tymber Britton had run-scoring hits. Roff started six freshmen in the contest. Addison Wilson absorbed the pitching loss for Binger. She struck out nine, walked five and allowed just one earned run.

Team Record: Binger-Oney 21-3.

NOTEWORTHY: Camden Simon went 2-for-3 from the plate with one RBI and a run scored, but it wasn’t enough as the Roff Lady Tigers were on the short end of a 4-3 score with Class A No. 9 Canute at the Hinton Tournament. Roff had a 5-1 advantage in total hits, but the Lady Tigers fell victim to six errors while Canute had none. Kailyn Gore was 1-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored. Payton Owens and Maddie Adair were also 1-for-3, as Owens also scored a run. Maggie Sawyers suffered the pitching loss in relief of Paige Mayfield.

NOTEWORTHY: The Roff Lady Tigers were limited to two hits – both by Camden Simon – in suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Minco on Thursday at the Hinton Tournament. The Lady Tigers placed third in the loaded event. Maggie Sawyers took the loss in relief of starter Paige Mayfield. Minco totaled four hits. Roff committed four errors, and Minco ended up with two. Minco ace Taylen Redinger struck out five and walked just one in seven scoreless innings.Redinger helped her own cause by finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Carly Herndon went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Team Record: Roff 14-11; Minco 25-5.

Shea Linton and Annie Yanez also contributed big to Coalgate’s 15-hit attack. Both players finished 3-for-4 with a double and two runs batted in. Rylie Wood was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, four runs scored and a walk for the Lady Wildcats. Teammate Jaxie Wilson ended up 1-for-3 with one RBI, a pair of runs scored and a walk. Chloe Brown earned the pitching victory, allowing just two earned runs and seven hits while striking out seven and walking only two.
