NOTEWORTHY: Coming off a loss to Class A No. 4 Tupelo by the same score, Sulphur (No. 19 in Class 5A) blew leads of 6-2 and 10-6 and dropped a second straight heartbreaker to a highly-ranked team as Colbert (No. 1 in Class 4A) scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to steal the victory. Tisha Smith had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs, and four other players had two hits apiece for the Lady Bulldogs, who outhit Colbert, 16-14, but committed four costly errors.

COACHES QUOTE: “This is the second time in two days where we simply gave a good team too much with costly errors and too many stranded runners in scoring position. We had three two-out errors allowing Colbert to score six unearned runs. That was the difference between a win and a loss. We have to do a better job making our defensive plays.” — Sulphur head coach Blake Crawford.

Team Records: Sulphur 10-7
