Errors play part in Ada's loss to McAlester

McALESTER – The Ada Lady Cougars fell victim to five errors as host McAlester scored five unearned runs and registered an 8-3 victory on Thursday.

Raigen Leflore went 3-for-5 from the plate with three doubles and six runs batted in to fuel the Lady Buffaloes, who registered 10 hits. Leflore also got the pitching win, scattering six hits, walking just one and striking out eight.

Bren Cable and Sydney Shelton were each 2-for-4 as Cable drove home a pair of runs.

Kaley Watkins was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Ada, and teammate Torri Bray was 1-for-3 with an RBI triple.

Alyssa Colungo suffered the pitching loss as she allowed 10 hits and four walks while striking out three.

The Lady Cougars’ big inning was the sixth, as Bray tripled home Colbi Hargus and Zoie Graham followed with a run-scoring single. Hargus finished 1-for-2 with a run scored and a walk, and Graham also finished 1-for-3.
