ADA — Senior Night for the Ada girls’ soccer team turned into target practice for the Durant Lady Lions, who outshot the Lady Cougars 20-8 and coasted to a 6-0 victory. It was Ada’s final home game of the 2006 season.

With the loss, the Lady Cougars fell to 1-4 in District 5A-1 and 4-6 overall with matches remaining at Noble Friday (5:30) and Monday at Bishop McGuinness (where the junior varsity contest begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by varsity girls and boys matches).

“We just came out real flat and let Durant control the whole game,” Ada coach Donna Cox said. “It was one of those games where we just didn’t show up and play.”

The evening featured recognition of Ada’s 11 seniors, including captains Joy Barrick, Jessica Kinsey and Elizabeth Burke. Also playing their last home match were Ashley Rhodes, Cristin Lanis, Erin Digiulio, Stephanie Rosson, Caitlin Patrizi, Holly Brady, Nadine Etienne and Teresa Deanda.

“These 11 players will certainly be missed next year because of their experience, leadership and dedication to the game of soccer at Ada High School,” Cox said.
