ADA – East Central University point guard Terrell Carpenter was named Lone Star Conference North Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in the Tigers’ two victories over Abilene Christian and Angelo State last week.

Carpenter, a 6-0 sophomore out of Chicago, Illinois, shot 73.7 percent in the two games combined (14-of-19), including 75 percent from 3-point range (6-of-8). He shot 91.7 percent (11-of-12) from the free-throw line.

Carpenter scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds against ACU and poured in 26 points and dished out six assists against ASU.

He currently leads the conference in assists (5.8 per game) and is second in free-throw percentage (85.9 percent).

It was the third time that a Tiger has won the LSC North Player of the Week award this season. Junior guard Jason Thomas won the other two, the latter of which came last week.

The Tigers are 10-3 and in the midst of a seven-game w3inning streak.
