NOTEWORTHY: Junior center Jeremi Correll continued to be the area’s best big man so far this season, scoring 20 points and pulling down 10 rebounds to lead Latta to the easy victory. Correll, who is averaging 20 points per game, also had four steals, Trevan Jimboy had his best game of the season with 18 points (on 6-of-9 from 3-point range), and point guard Dalton Brown scored nine points (all in the first quarter) and dished out five assists.

Turtle, a 6-4 junior, teamed with 6-5 junior Caleb Timmons (who had eight first-half points) for 21 points and 20 rebounds. Point guard Ryan Haynes also had 10 points and Glenn Mitchell added eight for the Pirates.

Senior guard Kayla Balthrop was also in double figures with 11 points and dished out six assists, Jessica Bacon hit two 3-pointers and finished with eight points, and Miriam Bung had six rebounds and four steals to go with seven points. Emily Hassler and Sierra Barnhart combined to score 40 of Calvin’s 42 points.
