MIDWEST CITY. — The East Central University men’s golf team finished their regular season tournaments at the Oklahoma Baptist Spring Invite at John Conrad Golf Course. The Tigers finished 10th out of 15 teams at the event.

ECU was led by freshman Blake Long, who was participating in his first collegiate tournament. Long, a former Ada High standout, finished tied for 25th, out of 88 competitors, with a 149 (74-75). 

Junior Mickane Replogle finished two strokes behind with a 151 (77-74) and was tied for 34th.

Sophomore Blade Knox was tied for 39th with a 152 (73-79). Sophomore Michael Million was 67th with a 159 (76-83) and senior Brandon Nicholson was tied for 71st with a 164 (82-82).

The Tigers will now prepare for the 2014 Great American Conference Tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. The tournament is set for April 14-16.


ECU women's tennis falls

at Arkansas Tech

RUSSELLVILLE, ARK. — The East Central University women’s tennis team fell 9-0 to No. 29 Arkansas Tech in Great American Conference action at the Chartwell’s Women’s Sports Complex.

The Lady Tigers (5-13, 2-2 GAC) fought hard through the doubles matches. Junior Aurelie Rodriguez and senior Agostina Moran battled to an 8-6 loss with Bohdana Sardak and Olga Leyshyna at No. 2 Doubles. Junior Elizabeth Dignard and freshman Julia Municoy also battled, but fell 5-8 to Nozomi Matsuoka and Tamara Bell at No. 1 doubles.

The match was the third-straight road match for ECU.

The Lady Tigers will then host Harding, Saturday at 9 a.m. in their final league match of the season.
