Through five innings, the Latta Panthers got all they wanted from area rival Roff during a first-round matchup at the 2012 Dale Tournament.

But Latta scored eight ugly runs in the top of the sixth to pull away for a 10-0 run-rule victory.

The Panthers earned their first win of the fall season after dropping an 8-4 decision to Asher on Tuesday while Roff also evened out at 1-1 after defeating Stuart in a Tuesday road contest.

"They're going to be a pretty good little team before it's over with," said Eddie Collins of the young, yet scrappy Roff team. "We finally took advantage of some of the things they did and then stepped up and got some big hits."

Latta will battle top-seed and host Dale in a 7 p.m. semifinal showdown tonight. The Pirates pummeled Oktaha 15-0 in their first-round contest. Roff meets Oktaha at 3 p.m. today in a loser's bracket contest.

In another first-round contest, Asher pushed past Okarche to improve to 2-0 on the season and will play Rattan today at 5 p.m. in the other semifinal game.

Roff would play at 2 p.m. Saturday with a victory while the third place game is set for 4 p.m. with the title contest set for 6 p.m.
