NOTEWORTHY: Heath Wall went a perfect 3-for-3 to lead the Pirates at the plate and drove in six of Byng’s 10 runs in the game. Five of Byng’s eight hits went for extra bases. Nate Burris earned the mound win with a two-hit, shutout in four innings of work.

NOTEWORTHY: Byng (No. 2 in Class 4A) clubbed three home runs, including a grand slam by Cody Wheeler, a two-run shot by Preston Petty and Heath Wall’s second round-tripper of the day. Chad Keefer turned in a solid mound effort against the host Lions (No. 13 in Class 5A), allowing just one run in five innings. Byng made a season-high four errors in the game.

NOTEWORTHY: Wanette-Asher took a 5-4 lead on a three-run home run by Jacob Cole in the top of the fifth, but Leedey came up with nine runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a run-rule victory in the Dover Festival Saturday.

NOTEWORTHY: Wanette-Asher scored in every inning but the first and rolled to a 13-1 win over Vici. Allan Lamb ran his record to 3-0 on the season.
