NOTEWORTHY: Allen ran roughshod over their third straight opponent to easily win the championship at the Moss Tournament Saturday Night. The Mustangs outscored Dewar, New Lima and Wanette-Asher by a combined count of 47-8 en route to the title. The win over Wanette-Asher also gave Allen the championship of the rain-delayed Rattan Tournament. Brandon Postoak tossed a four-inning, one-hitter and struck out seven to earn the mound win and also went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs at the plate. Chad Colbert again led the Allen offense, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. In three tournament games, Colbert finished 8-for-11 with a home run, five doubles and nine RBIs. Tyler Harrington also cracked two doubles in the title game while Kevin Heck finished 2-for-3.

COACHES QUOTE: “We’re finally putting it together. We’re really coming on. We were 38-of-67 (at the plate) for the tournament as a team. Wanette-Asher has a pretty good ballclub but we came out and jumped on them early,” — Allen head coach John Cundiff.
