Ada physcial exams scheduled for July 19

ADA — Ada City Schools’ athletic physicals will take place Tuesday, July 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the Cougar Activity Center.

All male athletes in grades 7-12 and female athletes in softball and cross-country will take physicals at this time.

Athletes should pick up the necessary paperwork from their coach or the Ada High School office before the day of physicals.

Cost is $10 per student.

Roff athletic physicals

planned for July 13

ROFF — Sports physicals for Roff Junior High and High School athletes will be given Wednesday, July 13 at 9 a.m. at the student center. Cost is $10.

Forms can be found on the school website or at the high school during school hours.

Fast-pitch umpires needed

for 2011 fall season

ADA — Local umpire coordinator Ronnie Burns is searching for fast-pitch softball umpires for the upcoming fall season.

Anyone wishing to work local high school games during August and September can contact Burns at (580) 332-8093. Umpires must be OSSAA certified.

Co-ed state qualifier

scheduled in Ardmore

ARDMORE — The Ardmore Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting team entries for the 2011 Co-ed ASA State Classification Tournament.

The date for this tournament is Saturday, July 16, at the Ardmore Softball Complex. The entry fee for this double elimination tournament is $150 and all teams must be ASA sanctioned, if not the sanction fee is $25.00.  Entry deadline is 4:30 pm on Wednesday July 12. 

Teams must play in this tournament in order to qualify for the state tournament.  Teams can enter by bringing their entry fee to the Ardmore Parks and Recreation office located at 2704 N. Rockford Road or by mailing their entry fee to Ardmore Parks and Recreation Department at P. O. Box 249, Ardmore Okla. 73402.

Byng changes date

for athletic physicals

BYNG — The date for the first set of Byng athletic physicals has been changed to July 21 according to Byng Athletic Director Bruce Plunk.

Junior high and high school athletes playing baseball, softball and cross country will get physicals July 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. The physicals were originally scheduled for July 22.

All athletes participating in other sports (basketball, tennis, golf, swimming, etc) will take exams Aug. 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m as previously scheduled.

All physicals will be conducted in the high school student center. Cost is $10 per athlete.

ECU Tiger Basketball Clinic

tips off Monday at Kerr Center

ADA — The 2011 ECU Tiger Basketball Clinic is scheduled for July 11-14 at the Kerr Activities Center.

This camp will focus on the individual skills needed to be a fundamentally sound basketball player. The instructor for the camp is ECU women’s assistant basketball coach Jeff McGaha.

Ages 10-13 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon on July 10-13 and ages 14-18 will meet from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. those same days. Each participant will receive a camp ball.

Camp cost is $90 per person.
