HARRAH – Kylen Cooper tallied eight of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Class 4A 19th-ranked Ada Cougars rolled to a 63-44 victory over the host Harrah Panthers on Friday night.

Cooper was one of three double-digit scorers for Ada as Kobe Burgess finished with 15 points, nine in the second half, and Jaxson Robinson ended up with 14, including two treys, to go with nine rebounds.

Burgess also had seven rebounds, eight steals and a school- record 14 assists in the game.

“Kobe was simply incredible. If he had not sat out six minutes in the first half, he might have had a quadruple double,” said Mick “Voice of the Ada Cougars” Cowan.

Eight players got into the scoring column for the Cougars, as Cody Smith chipped in six points and Tanner Gilliam contributed four.

Ada outscored Harrah, 22-12, in the opening quarter, maintained that 10-point advantage at halftime, 32-22, and was up by a 44-36 count heading into the fourth. The Cougars then closed the game with a 19-8 fourth-period run.

Brett Cunningham scored a game-high 21 points to pace the Panthers.


Harrah 51, Ada 27

The Class 4A second-ranked Harrah Lady Panthers jumped out to a 14-6 lead through one quarter and led 30-13 at halftime in cruising to the 24-point win.

Landyn Owens led Ada with 11 points, Kaley Watkins followed with six off a pair of 3-point baskets and Mikayla Emarthle tacked on five. Alex Hamilton had seven rebounds off the bench for Ada.

The Lady Cougars committed nine turnovers in the first quarter and had 20 by halftime.

Kiara Lovings scored 17 points for Harrah, while Katie King and Ali Brzozowski added 15 points each.
