Carter reached base on a single to left field after Jackson McFarlane had led off the inning with a base hit of his own. McFarlane was ultimately thrown out at the plate, while Carter advanced to third.

A fly to right field off the bat of Jaycob Gray led to the error, which enabled Carter to score the game-winning run.

Ada, 2-3 on the season, had taken a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when both Trel Moore and Christian Maloy scored off a wild pitch. However, the Boomers tied it up at 2-all with a single run in the sixth.

McFarlane was credited with the pitching win as he worked all eight innings, allowing the two earned runs off nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts. McFarlane also went 3-for-3 with a walk in the contest.

Maloy was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Ada, and Carter finished 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored as the Cougars totaled nine hits.

Slaydn Covalt absorbed the mound loss for the Boomers. He allowed two earned runs in 7.2 innings of work. He finished with 10 strikeouts and walked just one.

Covalt also went 2-for-2 with an RBI at the plate. Jacob Runyan and Seth Sims also had two hits apiece in Woodward’s nine-hit effort.
