Ada boys tennis team wins Yukon tournament title

YUKON – The Ada High School boys’ tennis squad, behind a No. 2 Doubles championship and three runner-up finishes, took first place Friday out of eight teams in the Yukon Tournament.

Ada’s Lane Taylor and Ryan McCortney claimed the No. 2 Doubles crown after beating Edmond Santa Fe’s Rosario and Dillion, 7-6, 6-2 in the finals.

At No. 1 Doubles, the Cougar combination of Reese Siegle and Landon Swopes fell in the title match to Mustang’s Atkins and Baker, who secured the 7-5, 6-3 victory.

In singles play, Ada’s Harrison Boggs was a 6-0, 6-0 loser to Westmoore’s Richmond at No. 1 while the Cougars’ No. 2 Singles player Christian Siegle was on the short end of 7-6, 6-3 to Deer Creek’s Thomas.

The Ada boys are at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center Wednesday for the Guthrie Tournament.
