NOTEWORTHY: The Lady Longhorns forced 19 turnovers and compiled 13 steals in rolling past host Stuart. Breann Gipson, a 5-10 senior center, poured in a game-high 24 points and pulled down nine rebounds (four off the offensive glass) before fouling out and leading Stonewall. Senior forward Haley Snell popped in three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and senior guard Kim Helms knocked down two treys and recorded six steal for the victorious Lady Longhorns. Kayla Smith canned three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points to pace Stuart.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We played real good defense until the fourth quarter. Our goal is to not let the opposition reach double digits in each quarter and I felt like we let up and got a little lazy. But overall I thought we played really good defense,” — Stonewall head coach Brian Davis.

NOTEWORTHY: Asher held Maysville scoreless in the first quarter as freshman forward Shelby Fleming poured in a game-high 20 points in the Lady Indian win. Junior guard Tristan Milburn, who knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, finished with 12 points and sophomore guard Shayla Dekuyper followed with 11. Kasadi Reimers, a senior forward, chipped in eight points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Brooklynn House led Maysville with six points. Asher led 14-0 after one quarter and held a 27-7 advantage at halftime. Asher then outscored Maysville by a whopping 24-2 margin in the third quarter.
