NOTEWORTHY: Tana Davis scattered three hits and struck out five, and Lyndsay Daffern drove in the game’s only run to lead Stonewall to the home victory.  Davis’s batterymate, Breann Gipson, started Stonewall’s game-winning rally with a leadoff walk in the fourth, and after a sacrifice, Daffern singled to left-center for one of Stonewall’s five hits off tough-luck losing pitcher Luci Palmer.  Tameka Hamilton had two of Stonewall’s five hits.

NOTEWORTHY: Tupelo banged out 15 hits, including seven for extra bases, en route to the run-rule victory.  Five different players had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Tigers in the win.

NOTEWORTHY: Evan Anderson had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs, and winning pitcher Tanner Nelson went 3-for-4 and scored four times to lead Dale to the road win.  The Pirates led just 4-2 after four but scored three times in the fifth and blew the game open with a seven-run rally in the seventh.  Trucker Lee had two of Roff’s five hits and drove in two runs in the loss.

NOTEWORTHY: Tupelo managed just six hits — three by Caleb Stallcup — and was blanked at home by old nemesis Coleman.  

COACHES QUOTE: “We had better at bats overall but we’re just not able to string any hits together. Coleman has a nice ball club.” — Tupelo coach Clay Weller.

NOTEWORTHY: Brothers Reid and Gage Wall combined on a no-hitter, and their batterymate, Joe Nemecek, stayed red-hot with two hits and two RBIs to lead Byng to the home win.  Reid Wall struck out 11 over four innings, then freshman Gage fanned five over the final three.  Hunter Capps also had two hits for the Pirates, who got at least one hit from nine different players.
