STONEWALL – As the regional playoffs get set to begin Thursday, the Latta Lady Panthers and Stonewall Lady Longhorns had one final chance to tune things up Tuesday evening in Stonewall.

WEATHERFORD — The East Central University soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Southwestern Sunday in Weatherford. It was the final game of four-straight road matches.

East Central head coach Tim McCarty has preached “Close the Door” to his team since the beginning of fall practices (Ada News Football Special, anyone?).

BYNG – The Byng Pirates closed out their Class A District Tournament championship run by defeating the Vanoss Wolves 9-0 to take the title Friday evening at Stokes Field.

OLIVE – Austin Ellenberg and Randis Gray combined for a five-inning no-hitter Friday as the Class A eighth-ranked Latta Panthers thumped Olive 17-1 in five innings to capture a district championship.

STRATFORD – Sparked by three long interception returns for touchdowns – two by Clint Cosby and one by Dylan Evans – the Stratford Bulldogs coasted to a 40-14 rout of Kingston at Blackburn Field Friday night.

PRESTON – The Class A 14th-ranked Stonewall Longhorns rolled to three straight victories in claiming a district baseball championship on Wednesday.

SULPHUR – Cameron Jones and Trey Kiser each eclipsed 100 yards rushing as the Sulphur Bulldogs piled up 516 yards of offense in rolling to a 55-21 rout of Madill Friday night at Agee Field.

WYNNEWOOD – The Allen Lady Mustangs matched Wynnewood hit-for-hit with seven, but dropped a 4-1 decision to the Lady Savages in Class A district play on Friday.

ADA — The East Central University volleyball team swept past archrival Southeastern 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-15) in the first Great American Conference and home match of the 2016 season Thursday night inside the Kerr Center.

ROFF – Taryn Monjay and Kaylea Ensey each went 3-for-4 from the plate as the Roff Lady Tigers trounced Paoli 13-5 in four innings Friday to capture a Class A district title.

OLIVE — Tyler Dean and Jacob Savage pitched back-to-back one-hit shutouts as the Class A eighth-ranked Latta Panthers beat host Olive, 10-0, and Oilton, 17-0, in district playoff action on Thursday.

BETHANY — East Central freshman running back Je’Qualon Wright rushed for 131 yards and senior kicker Jarod Haynes remained perfect on the season with three field goals as the Tigers ran past winless Southern Nazarene 23-6 for a Great American Conference road victory Saturday night.

LONE GROVE – Triggered by a seven-run third inning, the Ada Lady Cougars pounded out 14 total hits and rolled to a 12-3 rout of host Lone Grove on Thursday.

The East Central University football team will be searching for its first win of the season Saturday night, when the Tigers travel to Bethany to face Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at SNU Football Stadium.
