12-step recovery meeting scheduled

ADA — Asbury United Methodist Church hosts The Way, a 12-step recovery meeting and Bible-based program for children, on Tuesdays. The evening begins at 6 p.m., and a meal is served at 7 p.m. 

Asbury United Methodist Church is located at 508 W. 6th,  Ada. For more information, phone 580-332-5266.

 

Naylor to speak at New Bethel church

Dr. Rebecca Naylor is speaker for New Bethel Baptist Church's 11 a.m. service Sunday. She is a career medical missionary to India. The event is open to the public.

 

Abba's Table needs volunteers in Ada

Abba's Table meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the old Cornerstone Church on Oak Avenue. The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in helping feed the hungry in Ada. Volunteers are needed

There is no meeting on Christmas or New Year's Day.

Holiday bakery, African boutique set

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church hosts a bake sale and boutique from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, and on Sunday morning, Dec. 9. There will be an assortment of  baked goods for holiday parties, as well as jewelry and other  crafts from Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.

St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is located at 17th and Broadway.

 

Dinner to benefit campus ministry

United Campus Ministry Spaghetti Spectacular takes place Thursday, Dec. 6, at First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Broadway and 14th streets.

Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Dinner is from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Cost is $6 per adult  and $3 per child for all-you-can-eat spaghetti, bread, salad and dessert.  

Proceeds benefit United Campus Ministry, an outreach to college students on the campus of East Central University.

Deliveries and pick-up orders are available for businesses during lunch.
