Ada church issues worship invitation
ADA — Asbury United Methodist Church members invite the community to join them for worship and third Sunday potluck food, fellowship and fun.
Hanging of the Green scheduled
ADA — The traditional Hanging of the Green will be presented on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, located on 129 W. 14th St.
This musical presentation has been recognized as the most inspiring musical presentation in Oklahoma. The church offers it as a gift to the community so, therefore, there is no admission fee and no offering will be received.
There will be quality child care during the concert and a reception will be held following the concert.
The musical program will include an orchestra under the direction of Rozzie Purdy with Rudy Lupinsky as the accompanist.
The event is free and open to the public.

Church hosts community lunch
ADA — First United Methodist Church, Ada, invites the community to a chili and corn bread lunch and winter clothing give-away Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be coats and other clothing for all ages and sizes and blankets available while supplies last.

ADA — Byng Free Will Baptist Church hosts a Thanksgiving gospel singing Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. Singers include Mark Huett, Bobby and Tina, Revelation Singers and River of Life Singers.
This singing is promoted by Boyce Jones Sr. each year at Thanksgiving.

Alternative Gift Market continues
ADA — Alternative Gift Market 10,000 Villages takes place Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at East Central University’s North Lounge of the Student Union.
Ten Thousand Villages works with more than 130 artisan groups in more than 38 countries in Asia to provide fair trade jewelry, home decor and gifts.
The event is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church in Ada. Proceeds go toward support of needs in communities around the world.
