All-night gospel singing set

Allen —  

If staying up all night and listening to gospel music appeals to you, save the date for the 67th annual gospel singing event near Allen.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Johnson Chapel UMC, located five miles south of Allen on Highway 48. To reach the facility, exit at the church sign and go three miles east and one mile south.

Patrons are invited to bring their lawn chairs, and concessions will be available.

The roster of performers includes the Ric Hinson Group out of Wichita, Kan.; The Stones; Higher Ground; Little Harmonettes; Scrap Iron; and the Master’s Touch.

Al Brown will be master of ceremonies for the event.
