Series of lessons conducted on war in Israel set at Ada church

ADA — New Life Apostolic Church is teaching a series of lessons on the  war taking place in Israel. Refreshments will be served. The lessons are open to the public. Phone 436-1765 for more information.

 

Bake sale, gift shop set Saturday at St. Luke's

ADA — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, located at 17th and Broadway,  hosts a bake sale and gift shop from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the parish hall.

The event is an opportunity to not only satisfy a sweet tooth but to find a unique Christmas gift (jewelry and other crafts) from African Team Ministries.

Baked goods and gifts that are not sold on Dec. 8 will be offered for sale during worship hours from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday, Dec. 9.

 

Byng Assembly of God Church hosts singing event tonight

BYNG — Byng Assembly of God Church hosts a singing event at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the church.

 

12-step recovery meeting scheduled at Asbury UM

ADA — Asbury United Methodist Church hosts The Way, a 12-step recovery meeting and Bible-based program for adults and children on Tuesdays. The evening begins at 6 p.m., and a meal is served at 7 p.m.

Real Story of Hanukkah explored in three-part lesson

ADA — The Real Story of Hanukkah and What It Means for Christian Believers Today is the topic of a three-part exploration of the story behind the Jewish holiday and how it relates to faith in Jesus.

Part 1 takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Olive Branch Fellowship, 600 W. 9th.

Parts 2 and 3 are Saturday, Dec. 8, beginning at noon.

The lessons are free and open to the public.
