Gary Starns, Pontotoc County Commissioner, knows a thing or two about litigation and how popular it has become.
When local resident Lisa Munday came before the commission to argue she and her friend’s rights to ride their horses on the property surrounding the Agri-Plex without interference, he was ready.
“I sit on the state board of commissions and I deal with lawsuits every week in all 77 counties,” he told Munday.
After the meeting, Starns said one of his main jobs is keeping Pontotoc County from being sued.
Munday said her friends rode their horses properly and even cleaned the grounds of litter because “it’s the right thing to do.”
She said the activity had caused no problems and she had no intentions of suing anybody.
