State Sen. Susan Paddack appeared likely to capture her third term in the Oklahoma Legislature on Tuesday.
Unofficial early election results showed the Democratic incumbent with a comfortable lead over her Republican challenger, Fred Smith. With nearly all precincts reporting, Paddack had captured 10,257 votes, or 82.1 percent of the total. Smith had 2,236 votes, or 17.9 percent of the total.
Paddack said she was pleased with the results.
“We’re happy with the numbers, and we’re just grateful to all my friends and supporters who went to the polls today and voted,” she said.
Smith said he wanted to thank his supporters in District 13.
