Ada —

"If people had witnessed all the shooting and bombing that I witnessed during D-Day June 6, 1944, they would never celebrate July 4 with firecrackers. I don't."

"I am calling to say 'God Bless to Mr. Loné Beasley for writing the article regarding July 4. I have called the County Commissioners to ask why we are not under a burn ban and they said it was up to the fire department; the fire department said it is up to the County Commissioners. Somebody needs to step up and take control of the situation. It is going to be devastating."

"Congratulations to Ada Community Band. If you missed the concert Tuesday night you missed a very talented group of musicians."

"My wife was in a local business earlier this. There is a store manager there who makes all kinds of sexual remarks to employees. He harasses any female who comes in there — making sexual remarks. He makes comments to employes like 'If we do this or that, you won't have to work so hard' — or whatever the case may be. He is very rude to customers, sarcastic and a know-it-all.

Somebody needs to stop that. You just don't do that kind of stuff."

  • How could God allow such?

If you count the area most of us consider to be Ada, our community is roughly the same size as Newtown, Conn. where a deranged 20-year-old snuffed out the lives of 26 innocents, including 20 children.
