Ada — “I wish to address a national issue — the subject of bullies in schools. When I was in school years ago, there was a bully who insisted on picking on me in particular because I was bashful and wouldn’t fight back. So I got whooped at school and then got whipped at home for getting my clothes dirty. I decided two whippings were too many. The next time the bully tried his tricks on me I cleaned his plow and he never bothered me again. I do not recommend violence or fighting, but sometimes it works.”
“Will the Democrats blame George Bush for losing Oklahoma to the Republicans?
“In response to Wednesday’s editorial about GOP’s survival by Loné Beasley, I agree with what he’s saying, but I don’t think he went deep enough. People who tend to vote Republican have a higher standard of their candidates and expect them to keep their promises. However, the Democrats will always have a home as long as there’s people who look to government as an arbitrator of what’s fair and there are people with hands out wanting somebody to support them and allow others to make important choices in their lives.”
